Pallant House Gallery – Eduardo Paolozzi

To coincide with their new Eduardo Paolozzi exhibition, Chichester’s Pallant House Gallery is holding a series of Thursday talks around the themes and ideas of this captivating artist, especially his collage work and approach to his art. I love receiving the gallery’s newsletter, not least because they always seem to choose the most beautiful images to illustrate it. There’s something really enticing about these colours, isn’t there?

Pallant House Gallery Exhibition

Chichester’s Pallant House Gallery is one of my favourite places in the nearby world. On the outside  (and much of the inside) it is Grade I listed Queen Anne splendour. On its walls it displays one of the greatest modern art collections in the country. As a haven from the crazybusy run-up to Christmas it can’t be beaten, especially as it’s still running the exhibition Gwen John and Celia Paul: Painters In Parallel, showing the work of these two 20th century artists. Who would have thought there would be something so peaceful about the image of a chair, just standing in a room? I know this image is not very Christmassy. But that’s the point! And if you are besotted by interiors, which I am, then it is pretty much perfect…

Exquisite work by Celia Paul whose work is available from Marlborough Fine Art
