It’s that time of year again, when all the gorgeous Christmas houses that we’ve been doing over the year start appearing in the magazines. This year I’m featuring the Hampshire home of artist Eileen White in the December 2012 edition of Period Homes & Interiors, and the Dorset home of Harriet Campbell in Period Ideas magazine.
Eileen and husband, Phil, transformed a dark, Victorian semi into a quirky, colourful family home, whereas Harriet and her husband, Lachlan, transformed an old stone schoolroom and house into a stunning rural retreat.
I love the way both women have stamped their own style on their respective homes. Eileen’s use of bold, colourful wallpaper and quirky accessories reflects her artistic talent whereas Harriet’s more traditional taste references the items she sells from her homes and interiors website, Hunter Gatherer, which is celebrating its 10th birthday this year.
